I do not understand how Angus Quigley can be ignored. The guy is the biggest, most physical back KU has and he doesn't shy away from contact. He's quick when hitting the holes and takes defenders with him. He had 61 yards in mop up duty and outperformed Crawford and Sharp.
So my question is why isn't this guy getting 15-20 carries a game? Is he in Mangino's doghouse? Does he not perform well in practice? I would love to hear why because as much as I love having Jake Sharp in our backfield I feel Quigley is better suited for the job. along with Crawford. I would use Sharp's speed in the slot and coming out of the backfield some on third down, because between the tackles Sharp gets hit and usually goes down. He just isn't big enough. But between the tackels Quigley is the best.
I can't complain too much though because this is a good problem to have. It appears we have 3 very good running backs in our system. I just think Quigley deserves more carries than the other two.
Thoughts?

I would definitely be giving Quigley the ball inside the 10 and on short-yardage situations.

I could see him utilized more as a power back. I think Crawford and Sharp have similar styles but Quigley could be a real bruiser at times.

I thought he was prone to fumble.

I thought he looked great and he definitely earned some carries. Hopefully he gets a longer look.

Get him in with a fresh D and let's see what he can do. The only times I've seen him are mop up, and it's hard to judge what a person can do when the other team knows the game's over!

Hold on, though. Crawford was hurt for part of the game. He looked more than explosive his first couple touches. I could even tell he had a pretty bad limp coming off the field once.

Quigley has been the best looking running back on the field the last two home games (Iowa State and FIU).....end of story.

Both games that were over early. I'll trust coaches judgment on who plays when.

Like people have said already, Crawford looked good before tweaking his ankle and Angus was running against worn out first string and second string D.
I agree the kid deserves a shot, but if he's not the featured back it's probably because he's been beaten out in practice. We all know Mangino gets the most prepared players on the field.
Another question about Angus, what's his blocking ability like? With an offense like ours, it's up to the back to block an end or linebacker that a TE might normally block, so if he's not solid enough, he's not going to play much.

I wrote a similar dissertation yesterday morning.
Mangino said something on his show to the effect 'we want Angus to get to a point to where he can contribute more' That tells me there must be something he doesn't do right in practice. Fumbilitis? Poor blocking? Poor attitude? Who knows. All that I do know is this guy runs HARD when given the opportunity. I really like how he hits the hole and hits it hard. Not much dancing around in his running style. Many (myself included) have questioned whether his performance may be gilded a little by the fact that he's facing a worn out defense when he comes out fresh. This may be true. Let's stop and think about that for a minute though. Wouldn't it be a good thing to have a fresh hard running back coming in from the bench in late games when we're not up 30 points?
Also, with Crawford a little dinged up, perhaps this weekend will be Angus's time to shine!

Jake's a proven leader. Jacques is a proven juco transfer. Quigley is just a sophomore. Be patient. His time will come.

Isn't Quigley a redshirt junior?

Yes....medical RS for torn quad......the kid has been pretty much sidelined with freak injuries for his entire career. Let's hope he remains healthy and continues to contribute.

He is a bruiser and loves to punish. If Crawford is banged up put him in
